Dungyü tells the story of a Tibetan refugee rebuilding a life in exile.

Khamtrul Rinpoche is the reincarnation of Jamyang Drakpa, a simple scribe who recorded the Great Fifth Dalai Lama’s visions in seventeenth century Tibet, and remains a close personal friend of H.H. The 14th Dalai Lama.

In addition to chronicling his early life and lives, Dungyü follows Khantrul Rinpoche’s efforts to establish a new, traditionally constructed Tibetan Buddhist monastery in northern India and convey to another generation of Himalayan peoples the teachings of the Fifth Dalai Lama.
